God is Awesome

I'm actually taking a second and catching up. Wow God is good. It's so wonderful how he has been working in my life lately. The people he has brought into my life and the amazing ways he's working. Lets see if I can do a recap of some of the wonderful ways he's been working.

The teaching would have to be the biggest one. The things he's been teaching me are just so amazing. Some of them are as follows

- Apathy is one of the greatest sins. If you are filled with hate for something at least you are on fire about it. This is interesting, I'm not sure if I will say the greatest sin, but in reality, if you have Apathy towards the sick, homeless, hungry, needy, or dead in spirit you aren't going to do any of the things you were called to do.

-Jesus always came speaking the blessing of peace to all that would hear it. This is something that I need to work on. Blessing people with grace and peace wherever I go. Don't worry, I'll still whip teachers of the law with a cord of ropes when they teach heresy, but I'm going to work on blessing people I'm around.

-When we sin, we are planting a seed. Whether we realize it or not. Just like when you sow good works. So it should be no surprise that we get in trouble with the law for speeding, or get STD's when we fornicate.

-Yeshua (Jesus) is the word. He is the spoken word of the Father. So to have Christ in you is to be filled with the word of the Father. Christ's total power is in to to the degree that you have the word written on your heart.

-Never curse a man of God with your mouth, for if the spirit resides in them and you curse him, you risk blasphemy of the holy spirit.

-The power of God will not be fully seen in your life till you live his commands in your life.

-God calls us to Love our brothers not tolerate and accept them, the truth must be spoken.

-The best warriors for Satan's kingdom are carnal Christians, those that refuse to walk radical transformed lives, but still claim the kingdom of Christ.

-When you stand of truth you stand on Christ, who is the spoken word of God. You stand on eternity.

-When you do not heed the instructions of God, they become laws and bring spiritual death.

I knew some of these already, it is defiantly great sharpening.

Anyway I hope that something that I wrote impacted you as much as it did me.

Ready for Marriage?

So I was talking to this man last night to is a fairly young christian. He's 26, but has lived a lot longer than my 23, which is longer than most people's 30 (we are talking experiences that a person has been through and their "relative age"). He was saying how he prays for a wife. This really struck me, and started being convicted myself. I for one did not see him anywhere near healed or ready to even be considering marriage, but what is ready you ask. Here are a few things I can think of.

Can you love your wife the way Christ loves you?
Can you love her even if she spits in your face?
And not even turn around, just stand there and tell her you still love her?
And no matter what she says or more important does, you will never say a harsh word to her?
Can you love your wife the way Hosea loved Gomer? Even if she whore's herself...literally, will you not turn away from her, and whenever she decides to come back, you will have her back?
Do you understand that your vows to her and God don't have any clauses, it says simply through everything till death due us part?
Can you love her even if she dishonors you, dishonors your marriage, does not return you Love?
Can you love her even if she does not respect you as head of the marriage, if she doesn't submit herself to you, or uphold any part of the bargain herself?
Can you make the decision to Love no matter if you feel like it or not? After all Love is a decision, not an emotion, fondness is an emotion.
And most importantly will you do all these things?

So if you can say yes without hesitation, you're probably ready for marriage men, if not, pray for the Lord to change these things in you, not that he will provide a wife. Cause he will either provide a wife or give you the ability to live without one, either way you are truly blessed.

Oh and for the women out there, will you submit yourselves to your husband the way you do to Christ, even if he does none of these things? To live in quietness and full submission to him, even if he is a lazy Ahab, and wont lead you at all? Will you still uphold your vows?

Update from the future:10/30/07
Although I really like what I had to say here in some respects, I think that what I was asking for was beyond the hardness of most people's hearts, including my own, that being said, the idea of sacrificing all your needs for the other will make any marriage strong, if both people are even half heartedly doing it.

Spirit and Truth

Having a long discussion over lunch with Brian my stepdad, I have had a topic stirred up in my heart once again. It seems lots of churchs in the area, and america as a whole, are neglecting biblical principals for a deeper spiritual relationship with God.

This is a really difficult topic. Most of us that grew up in an Evangelical church understand the deadness that was there because most people did not become baptised with the fire that is the holy spirit and walked around spouting scripture, but had no reinforcment from heaven to live those principals.

We see those that are ultra Charasmatic and cringe because most of what we see is emotional hype, with no founding in the scripture. They talk about partnering with the spirit and the conviction that the spirit will bring into your life to change you.

Well both of these are wrong, but both have what could be healthy. Like wings of an Eagle, both Spirit and Truth need to be fully developed within us. We should be able to go into worship based prayer and realize that we haven't moved for 4 hours. We should be motivated by the spirit and able to have victory over any weakness. To "Ask for anything of my Father in my name and you shall receive it". But how will you get these things without Truth? We need strong biblical foundings, after all the Holy Bible is the Direct Living Word of God, but without the Holy Spirit how will you fight off satan's attacks on those foundings? Only through humanistic thought and that is the death the church is in.

Lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways look to him, and he will show you were to go.

And Remember compromise killed the church
